City Wide announced today that it has been named to Franchise Times Top 200+ list, which is an exclusive ranking of the 500 largest franchises. Based on the company’s worldwide system sales and number of locations, City Wide has been rated number 243 alongside the largest franchises in its industry. This is City Wide’s seventh consecutive time on the list, with continual upward movement in the rankings since its first appearance at number 322 in 2012.

This recognition validates the tremendous growth the company has experienced in the past year. In 2017, the brand generated $206.5 million in sales and welcomed eleven new franchise owners. Today, City Wide has more than 55 offices open nationwide.

“With every incredible milestone such as this, we are honored and inspired to reflect on our success in the building management industry,” said Jeff Oddo, CEO and president of Kansas City-based City Wide Maintenance and Franchise. “This ranking proves our leadership team and franchise team are stronger than ever, and we have the stamina to keep this momentum going. As we put more locations on the map, we’re strengthening our position in the commercial cleaning field and providing more value to facility managers, property managers, and business owners across the nation.”

Using a combination of companies’ voluntary reports and the most recent franchise disclosure documents, the Franchise Times Top 200+ is an annual ranking of the 500 largest franchise systems in the United States by global systemwide sales, based on the previous year’s performance. The project is the outcome of a five-month research and reporting effort each year that results in the most credible and objective franchise ranking available.

To qualify for the ranking, companies must be a legal United States franchise, with its headquarters based in the United States, or at least 10 percent of their total units located in the country. Franchisees must also own at least 15 percent of the company’s total units. The 200 franchises with the top global systemwide sales, including total sales for both franchise and company units, receive the highest rankings.

City Wide has made a name for itself in major U.S. cities by streamlining commercial facilities and maintenance management of more than 20 services through in-house technicians and a collection of independent contractors and vendor partners, including janitorial, handyman services, parking lot maintenance among others. Taking the onus from building owners and property management companies that typically have to choose separate companies for each task, City Wide eases the selection and management processes for its clients.

Entrepreneurially spirited individuals interested in owning a City Wide franchise should have the ability to invest $200,000 to $365,000, which includes working capital and a typical franchise and territory fee of $90,000.
