As a building owner, you may have a difficult time wanting to shell out money for a lawn and landscaping service. But science may give you a reason to reconsider.

While it may be common knowledge that having a lawn and landscaping service take care of the exterior of your building can give curb appeal and helps the environment, it may not be as well-known that something as simple as adding plants and flowers can improve emotions and moods before employees or clients even enter your building. Depending on these reactions, color can affect our day-to-day decisions, including items we want to buy or how we want to feel arriving or leaving a building.

“People make a subconscious judgement about an environment, product or person within ninety seconds of their initial interaction,” Natalie Candy and Vicky Bullen, branding experts at Coley Porter Bell, told Admap. In fact, they discovered “62-90% of that assessment is based on color alone.”

That being said, you can only imagine how planting greenery and colorful flowers around your building may be a simple yet effective way to powerfully impact the people coming in and out of your facility.
